Dr. Kay Wijekumar
Dr. Kay Wijekumar, is Houston Endowment Chair and EDGES Fellow at Texas A&M University College Station. She serves as the Director for the Center for Urban School Partnerships and has led 93 million dollars of grant funded projects to successfully transform schools. Her work has been featured on US News and World Report, Hechinger Report, The What Works Clearinghouse, Johns Hopkins University Center for Research and Reform in Education. She was elected to the Board of School Directors at the Quaker Valley School District and has developed strong relationships with many advocacy organizations such as the International Dyslexia Association, The Reading League, the American Educational Research Association, Decoding Dyslexia, Texas Association for School Administrators, National Rural Education Association, European Literacy Network, the Society for Research in Educational Effectiveness, and Rotary International. She focuses all her energies on eradicating illiteracy through the design, development, and application of AI based tools for learning in English language arts, science, social studies, and mathematics.
